How does an InSinkErator work?
Turn on the cold tap and let it run for about 10 seconds so all the food waste is flushed through your plumbing.
Inside the disposer, lugs push the food waste outwards against a fixed grind ring.
The grind ring breaks the food waste down into tiny particles that pass easily through your pipes.
These fine particles then travel through the sewers to wastewater treatment works, where they can be turned into biogas for energy and into useful nutrients for farm soil.
